Education

The Southern Museum is dedicated to providing quality and interactive educational opportunities for all ages. Hands-on Children’s History Workshops and Homeschool Days programs bring history to life for elementary-age children, while the Museum’s Mommy and Me preschool programs provide a fun and exciting starting point for younger children. Throughout the year the Museum's Education Department offers interpretive programs and lectures for adults that provide a more in-depth look at the Museum's exhibits and historical themes. Many of the Museum’s educational programs are made possible with support from the Kennesaw Museum Foundation.

Many of the Southern Museum’s programs on trains and Civil War for kids take place in the recently opened Jolley Education Center, which was designed to help children experience history through hands on and interactive exhibits.
